Game Theory Picks Weekly Recap: July 20-26

Weekly Recap (7/20-7/26)

With the first week of American major sports FINALLY being back in the books, we are going to begin posting our weekly recaps every Tuesday to our blog page again. Over 4 months have gone by since we had a sports week like this past full week, and it certainly did not disappoint!

On Sunday, the final day of the Premier League season took place. Liverpool was able to finish off the season in dominating fashion, off to their first league title in many years! We didn’t end the season with a winner, as our Under 3 goals pick in the Liverpool game hit a 4th goal in the 90th minute of action on Sunday! Nonetheless, we wrapped up a +20.51 unit EPL season and managed to hit some huge underdog money lines along the way this season, including +820, +509, +250, +872, +710, +525, +570, and +800 lines (AMAZING!). Our 2-unit EPL MAX plays finished a measly 2-3, but our 1.5-unit plays finished 19-7 on the season! We are looking forward to Premier League action returning again very soon, as the new season actually begins in a few short weeks on September 12th!

The PGA Tour took its talents to TPC Twin Cities last weekend with the 3M Open. It was a rather quiet weekend, with many star golfers sitting out, but we sent clients two PGA plays that ended up splitting 1-1 (-.5u) over the tournament. However, let’s not forget that the last 30 days of our PGA plays are hitting at a 65% win rate as we continue to pick and choose our spots on the tour. Many people view golf as an “add-on” sport, yet we’ve realized there is great value to be made with matchups as caddies, conditions, course lengths, etc. play a big role in determining good value for these plays! Stay tuned for more PGA this week!

The real showcase for the past week was the return of Major League Baseball to the diamond! Spending time analyzing this sports betting industry, you’ll begin to notice what separates the “average handicappers” from the professionals is preparation, access to good information, and reliable systematic approaches. Our team spent the entire COVID sports break refining our models and taking into account several of  the variables that may come with a shortened season, as such. As far as MLB goes, our hard work paid off in the first weekend tremendously as we got out to a 9-5 +10.58 unit start in the first 4 days of action alone! The value was on the underdogs in certain spots on opening weekend, and we took advantage! With an average line of +207, our moneyline bets are now 6-2 to start the season.

It is saddening to hear of the recent outbreak in certain MLB organizations regarding COVID-19; however, it is something to be expected with these teams traveling & the virus appearing to spread at high rates upon close proximity to others. We will continue to evaluate the leagues updates; however, plays will be sent out as long as lines are available to capitalize on!

With multiple major sports brewing for a return this week, there is no truly better time to get in on the Game Theory Picks action! This week alone, we will be adding plays for the NBA, the NHL & the WNBA! Not to mention potential futures plays on the NBA & NHL to be released later this week (pending line movements)!
