Game Theory Picks Weekly Recap: March 2-8
Weekly Recap 3/2/20 - 3/8/20
While coronavirus happened to strike down the stock market hard last week, our sports betting market was unaffected as we took full advantage across ALL sports over the 7 day stretch, going 43-28-1 (for +11.8 units) overall!
Hockey has been EXTREMELY profitable for our clients in 2020. Our NHL picks finished 7-3 netting us 5.6 units of profit last week. NHL is a league in which we stay very selective and take advantage of valuable underdogs. On March 7th we managed to sweep the board with +115, +130 and +140 money line underdog winners on the ice.
We are a little over a month away from the NBA playoffs and teams/coaches are beginning to game plan differently. Tanking tends to become more obvious around this time of year as teams are eliminated from the playoff hunt quite regularly. Coaches are more willing to give young players a chance to better their skill-set at this time; however, it seems these changes also increase their teams chances to lose particular games as well. This uncertainty will result in less NBA plays during the home stretch of the regular season, however, this past week we went 10-6 +3.4units.
College Basketball is nearing the end of the regular season, with most conference tournaments taking place this week leading up to Selection Sunday on March 15th. Last week, our CBB picks netted +0.9 units with a 13-11-1 record overall. March Madness is upon us next week, and this tournament (in addition to the NIT & CIT) has historically been quite a profitable time for our clients, as these unfamiliar matchups & indifferent playing styles tend to lead to up-to-date information being key in providing cappers with a decent edge (particularly by grabbing certain spreads & totals quickly at the right #’s throughout the tournament).
FYI - Our MLB Spring Training picks are being released FREE on our Facebook and Twitter account daily. This past week we netted +1.9 units of profit finishing 12-7 on the diamond. We will continue to release these plays for FREE up until the regular season begins.
In the English Premier League, we liked the value Norwich provided at +475 to win outright vs Sheffield United last week; however, they ultimately lost 1-0 after surrendering a 36th minute goal. We have hit big underdog money lines in the past and find that’s the way to best profit off these matchups in soccer. We’re anticipating a heavier sized EPL card this upcoming weekend that may include a MAX play.
XFL is a brand new league to help cope with off-season football and we have been keeping a close eye on it during its young season. This past Sunday we had our first XFL play of the year in Los Angeles and it was a winner by halftime! Due to the limited number of total games (only 4 games per weekend) these plays will most likely be rare but when we see value in the books, we will pound it!
