NHL Qualifier Series Round - Free Play

NHL 24-Team Tournament: First Round (Qualifier Series)

Series Price (Flames vs Jets): Flames to win the series -125 (1u)

The Calgary Flames are set to square off with the Winnipeg Jets as the NHL returns with the Qualifying Rounds (Best-of-5 series) this upcoming weekend! The Jets come into this series with a 37-34 record (80 total points), while the Flames showcased a 36-34 record (79 total points) prior to COVID delaying the NHL regular season. Calgary has finished well as favorites this season (22-17 overall) and we look for them to continue those winning ways here.

As with any sport, it’s hard to fully state how these teams will react coming straight back to the ice after over 4 months without games. However, the Calgary Flames are led by a skilled set of forwards in Tkachuk, Gaudreau, and Monahan who are primed for success and it is worth mentioning that they have been on a roll since the beginning of the 2019 season. Last year, Calgary looked like one of the most improved teams in the NHL finishing the regular season with the best record in the West, as well as, scoring the 2nd most goals in the entire league.

Aside from the Flames having one of the Western Confernce’s strongest lines at forward, their defense has also proven huge in key moments on the Power Play this season. The Flames currently hold a penalty kill percentage of 82.1%, which ranks them at 8th in the league. In a shortened series, like this, having the stronger penalty kill is crucial and could lead to valuable goals saved defensively over the course of the 5 game series.

The Calgary Flames have a real opportunity to make a push towards the 2020 NHL playoffs in this series, and we are recommending to play: Flames to win the series -125
